Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

The Seven Jewels set out on a mission in the Autumn of 1905 to found an organization dedicated to manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind. Over 100 years later, the Brothers of Alpha Chapter continue to serve their communities through leadership, mentorship, social activism, and academic excellence, continuing to hold the light high and carry out the mission of the fraternity.

Greetings,

The Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated is the founding chapter of the first historically Black intercollegiate fraternity in the country, and the legacy started by our founders still thrives on Cornell’s campus today.

As a chapter and as a fraternity, we pride ourselves on the aims of scholarship, manly deeds, and love for all mankind. Through staple programs like our annual Miss Black & Gold Scholarship Pageant, we fulfill our commitment to provide service, advocacy, and leadership to the Cornell and Greater Ithaca communities.

To learn more about our chapter, visit our website, Cornell1906.com, or contact us with any inquiries.
